Okay, as everyone would hopefully know the SD501 is known to last in excellent condition, producing all the different types of water for 15-25 years. Just in case I have not mentioned this before, this company has been around for 35 years and is debt free.
Say your SD501 will only last for 15 years. Hypothetically a family of five, drinking a gallon of water a day. Adding all of that up and dividing by 15 years, that is 70 cents a day for the SD501. Say the family of five drinks a gallon of water a day of Aquafina for 15 years, that is $1.59 a day. Over 15 years, that is $8705.25 If the same family drank Fiji instead, that is $8.82 a day and $48,289.50 over the next 15 years. I think I'll stick with my 70 cents a day and get all of my cleaning supplies for free. The above prices do not include inflation, nor the time and gas to go buy the water either.
Now I am not sure about everyone else, but I personally drink water all the time. I will go through a gallon of water a day, just by myself. For a family of five, one gallon of fluid water equals to 128 ounces of water. So that would be 25.6 ounces per person a day. Now, this is all according to if I did my math correctly. You are more than welcome to correct me.
